Why, that leaves them down a center without addressing defensive depth while adding to a glut of wingers most of whom are already better than Hoglander, including their prospects. The only winger they need is Foligno or Jeannot. If they aren't getting them the have actual needs to fill

If we need wingers, it's a physical middle six forward or a guy like Meier. It makes no sense to trade Mitts for Hoglander.

Sure, but CM is bad and youre getting good value for him. You can find other bad centres for free!

I'm not a Mittlestadt fan, but he at least wins faceoffs and kills penalties. Hoglander isn't doing that, doesn't fit anywhere on the NHL roster and wouldn't be there best prospect, so it's a net loss

Have you seen the winger market? Would hoglander even have a spot in out top 9? And we have savoie, ostlund, Rosen, kulich, and a couple Russian kids all pushing for spots- and we absolutely have to go and get probably 2 wingers that are the exact opposite of hoglund

CM improved his game over this summer his skating is better and you can tell he's in better shape - still not a finished product, still needs to improve his overall strength, his shot velocity and he has to puck handle at his top skating speed instead of slowing down. So I'd like to see how he does after one more off-season unless a trade just blows me away.

Except Mitts isn’t “bad”
While he hasn’t hit expectations offensively,
he has developed nicely into a solid 2way center

Some Sabres fans are just p!ssed bc they want him to be a ppg player

Lets not be dense here.
Points do not reflect the player or contracts being moved, particularly at this low level for eval

It's just one point of reference. I'm not going to list all of the other points. 3 points in the NHL at this point in the season...is not good.

On top of that, as others have said...there is no need for Hoglander on BUF's roster and Mitts has more value than a small winger.

Skinner, Tuch, Olofsson, Quinn, JJP, Asplund are all better than Hoglander. There's no room for him.

I don't think mitts has value as anything. He has been bad and youd be better off replacing him. Getting a young and talented but massively underused winger plus a good pick (65-70) for him would be a huge get, even if not ideal positionally

(Also id be moving on from Olaf too so there is your space)

Mitts is 14th in the league in PP pts/60. That's not "bad".

Oh, move a guy that is on pace for 43 goals....to make room for a guy on pace for 5 goals.

EDIT: Wait...now you're going to tell me that goals don't matter.

Imagine using points as your only eval.
CM is getting crushed in his minutes and Olaf is empty calorie scoring.

I clearly said it's just one point of reference. Imagine not being good at reading comprehension.

Is Hoglander a full calorie 1 goal player?

CM is getting crushed in his minutes

Hoglander 47.99 CF% 35.229 GF%
Mitts 48.41 CF% 36.36 GF%
Olofsson 51.08 CF% 45.83 GF%

Seems Mitts is better in those departments. Plus he plays PP (extremely well) and PK and wins faceoffs and plays a more valuable position.

Feel free to tell me how Hoglander is better and isn't "getting crushed" in his minutes. You haven't made one good point about him....at all.

How have you not figured out that some guys score bc of others yet? Hoffman is famous for it for example
