I'm going to try to be constructive (recognizing that's not my strength):
I believe that Ekholm is better than Zub. But Zun is 5 years younger and much cheaper and fits what Ottawa is building better than Ekholm (plus, Sens are set on the left side, where Ekholm is stronger). So Zub is so much more valuable to the Senators organization than Ekholm likely would be. Sens decline. If you want to trade Ekholm for right D help, I think you need to look at teams like NJ or LA who have strong right sides compared to the left.
The Toronto trade is too much of a lateral move for both teams and doesn't really address a need for either team. I'm not sure why you would want to move Fabbro, but I suspect the Leafs say no anyway. We really like Liljgren.
And that trade doesn't get you Meier. That discussion starts with Jeannot and the 2023 1st. Then you add to that. If you're looking for cheaper options to improve the forward core, I think a center would be better. If Vancouver doesn't recover, Horvat might make some sense for Nashville.
