That was a Flames fan that created this post, no one in Detroit would ever agree to this trade.

Abysmal trade for Detroit. Gross.

Kylington is the most valuable player in this trade, as he's on an upswing with his play, whereas Kubalik's play has declined the last couple years
Ruzicka has performed well in the NHL and therefore should be valued greater than Veleno now, since he has not.
I might be undervaluing Elmer, but he hasn't done anything in NHL Regular Season play yet, so it's hard to say. CGY has a similar guy in Radim Zohorna, so I'd take Rasmussen instead if you wanted to hold on to Elmer, considering Ruzicka & Kylington > Veleno & Kubalik

HaHa, okay whatever, keep your guys = Former 7th Rounder Kubalik was dumped by CHI for nothing and signed for free and is currently not even slotted in your Top-9, Top Prospect Joe Veleno is yet a Healthy Scratch once again and just can't seem to make the Roster on one of the Worst Teams in the NHL and other than a couple pre-season games, your 6th Rounder Elmer has ZERO North American Hockey Experience, but individually they're all much better than CGY's players. Yeah okay, so who's the homers here!?! You guys are ridiculously funny, thanks for the chuckle

I would say Veleno has a higher ceiling than Ruzicka and has looked pretty good this preseason, that said he hasn't done much in the nhl.
Kubalik is an interesting case, former 30 goal scorer who didn't do that well on a bad team. He didn't have anyone decent to play with and I think the losing mentality wasn't good for anyone there. That said his value is pretty low right now.
Soderblom is an enigma, he has high potential and is massive but still needs alot of work. In a trade situation I would put his value pretty high.
I think personally there is more value going to Calgary. Kylington would be nice but not really a need. I personally would be more interested in Andersson to replace Hronek.

Andersson simply isn’t available. Kylington is and has been made expendable with the acquisition of Weegar

I think Ruzicka has the higher ceiling but our Coach likes more Physicality and being French, Veleno might be a better fit, but I do believe Ruzicka to be the better & more effective player

Kubalik was playing with guys like Kane, Toews, DeBrincat, Strome and Jones so I don’t really buy the bad line mates argument. He doesn’t appear to be in DET’s Top-9 Forwards either.

I’m fine swapping Elmer for something else as we have Zohorna who is a very similar player, but Kubalik’s a gamble and not worth Kylington alone so the trade needs to be balanced somehow

Kubalik for Kylington seems about fair, and MAYBE Ruzicka for Veleno (but probably a no on this one). 4th Calgary Round for Elmer. That suggestion is borderline a troll suggestion.. At this point in his development, I don't think you'd get Elmer for anything you'd feel comfortable trading away. Not even sure why you would aim for a young unproven player at this point in your cup run anyway. I'd imagine you'd be looking for a proven solid right winger.

Kylington had a fantastic breakout season, so you obviously don’t know who he is or you don’t know hockey. Which one is it or perhaps explain how a Defensemen who scores more than your Forwards in this discussion is less valuable.

Kylington is better and more valuable than Kubalik, Veleno or Soderblom

Homerism? You just called an unproven prospect, a bust, and a recent unqualified player better than a top 4 defensman. Get real

No it’s not fair, hence why other players were added to balance it out. Soderblom was simply added as a big waivers exempt Swedish Winger with potential upside, something that appeals to me and our team but I’ve already conceded that I may be under valuing him and am fine to swap him out, but:

Kylington + Ruzicka > Kubalik + Veleno, so it’s not really just a 4th being offered for Elmer

You guys outright waived Kylington not even 2 years ago and ONE decent year doesn't prove anything. There are obvious concerns with his game and he isn't even with the team right now due to personal matters. Furthermore, he is not a need for the Wings AT ALL. We have easily the best LHD pipeline in the NHL by a long shot.

It's not even about value, or "whose better", it's just an absolutely ABYSMAL fit for Detroit in position, or need, whereas Veleno and Soderblom are VERY much worth the "gamble", as they are both positions of need (Soderblom alone is such a unicorn he's damn near untouchable).

If you guys love Kylington so much, keep him. We don't want him.

Offering up trades that don't factor in the other team's needs or structure and then balking at them saying no to a bad fit is just stirring ****. Value is irrelevant.

Needs. We don’t need Kylington now that we’ve acquired & signed Weegar long-term. We need a Top-9 forward. CGY’s need retention on Bertuzzi

Kubalik, Veleno & Soderblom aren’t worth Kylington alone but if we acquired a couple of them, hopefully our coach (Jack Adams Recipient = Best Coach in NHL) can get one of them to help contribute. Kubalik’s a gamble so we need additional compensation by way of a prospect and DET should be about done with Veleno at this point. He hasn’t worked out, neither has Zadina. They’re like Valimaki was to us. Not busts but not good enough either, so give them a change of scenery and one more shot

I checked and yup, you need a guy like Kylington till your other guys are ready to compete. Only need 1 of Maata or Hagg, not both in the lineup. Need another mobile puck moving LD who can jump in the play and contribute offensively.

Thinking and believing DET has the deepest LD Prospect pool in the NHL is what I would consider Homerism

Lol are you actually bringing up waivers from 2 years ago? Clearly he's proven that was a mistake by both the Flames GM and every other GM in the league for not claiming him.

How does personal matters have anything to do with his play?

Im not arguing if Detroit needs him, that os completely irrelevant to what I responded to

I don't disagree with Detroit wanting to keep Soderblom, they should keep him.

Soderblom is very similar to Zohorna who we already have anyways
