Chicago would definitely be smart to take that (if they waive of course). You're definitely going to be paying Detroit more to take Muzzin and retain on Kane though.

Team also isn't really cap compliant, 20-man roster even with Sandin taking a contract he clearly doesn't want to take.

Even if Kane was willing to come to Toronto, they probably won't be offering a great package for him, so it's fair to assume that the best prospect that they would offer is Robertson. The Rangers and Oilers are more likely to pursue him with stronger offers.

They do view Knies as untouchable and probably Niemela as well, at least for rentals.

I can see Yzerman taking a pick to retain on Kane but I don't think he adds any more players before the start of the season. I also don't see Muzzin waiving for Detroit, he isn't going from a contender to a non playoff team.

Actually I think ALL of these Kane trades aren't realistic. Kane's NMC means he's only going to a good/great team and those teams don't have cap for him. Come January Kane will decide if and where he wants to be traded to. His cap will more palatable for teams wanting to trade for him.
