Honestly Severson+ for Miller makes a lot of sense to me. Miller would be a good piece to add to a young top 6. Severson would be a great top 4 D that could probably play with Hughes.

Realistically, I don't see you getting something close to a ppg player for multiple years, in exchange for 1 year (or less) of Severson. I could have seen something involving Necas earlier on in the offseason, but they made the move for Burns and Coghlan, and still have Bear there as well.

Severson doesn’t make sense to the Canes. Burns and Pesce are locked into top 4. Doesn’t make sense to bring on a rental making that much for the third pair when we already have 3 more third pair options on the right side.

Yeah, I'd just be curious as to how willing Ron Francis would be to move one of those guys though? Like, to me, Schwartz/Bura/Bjokstrand/Eberle/McCann are very unlikely to be moved, so mayyyybe Gourde? I'd still be doubtful on that one as well though...Leaves Wennberg (Center though...) and Donskoi (nope), neither of whom make a ton of sense.

No chance leaf’s move Nylander for Severson . Trade Value is lopsided in devils favour + Severson is a pending FA. Maybe unfair, but I can’t get past eye test that he looks badly overmatched whenever leafs play them

Imo, Severson is not enough for 80 point Nylander. Im a Leaf fan who wants to move Nylander but i think his value is mor than Severson who is 1 season from FA. How about Graves + Mercer?

Canes are not a good trade partner for you because the NHL does, in fact, have a hard salary cap in place, and the fact the Canes are now light a top 6 forward but have FIVE RHD defenseman on the roster at the moment. Might want to look elsewhere…and possibly temper expectations on a return.

I have a feeling if a Vancouver trade is happening, Walsh would go with Severson.

You aren't getting a superstar forward for a serviceable Defensemen. Let's stop acting like Severson has that kind of value. Take the last first and B prospect and be on your way.

It's hard to play a guessing game right now. Flat cap, teams are mostly built or maxed out, Sev is a rental unless a team wants to pay him 5m ish... You're down to a handful of teams

Canuckle fans do the same with Miller. Imo, Rentals won’t get you return commensurate with player’s value. Maybe some team panics at the deadline, but I’m thinking you’d get good but not top tier prospect + pick(s) for Severson. To make a ‘hockey trade’, you’d need to find a team that needs a top 4 rhd, has a piece that they’d be willing to give up & devils want, and that also has the space to extend Severson. Leafs for sure aren’t one of those teams.
