Pretty solid list, I would say UPL isn’t even the Sabres top goalie prospect though, Devon Levi is going to be elite. The ONLY knock against him is his size, but he has the tools/mentality to be one of the best in the league.

To me he's #3, I think Wallstedt and Askarov are studs, Levi is in the same category...but he's smaller. Then there is a second tier after them...Portillo should probably be considered in that tier. Sabres might actually have 3 top 10 goalie prospects.

I would Switch Wright and Sanderson's tiers. I agree with Wrights position in his draft class, don't like his attitude.

I'm so excited to get this season going already and see what the Jackets have in Marchenko. It seems like public opinion on him is fairly low, but writers and scouts think very highly of him. Gonna be fun to see what he can do.

Tbh I completely forgot about Levi, he would definitely be top 10 for sure and probably over UPL. Blomqvist was considered, he had insane stats in the liiga this year but I honestly would like to see his North American play too. He easily has the craziest stats of all foreign goalies but imo it is going to be hard to translate. I think if he put up another season like this one he is definitely top 5 even with the little graduations in the top 5. He could really be a steal.

Imo he definitely should have gone top 2. Still have him as a top prospect and the best from the 2022 draft but he could definitely prove me wrong. Kinda hard to rank 100 prospects tbh, and at the end it becomes a headache to rank after selecting the top guys. I could see an argument to move Sanderson up but I don’t really see one to move Wright down.

He easily has the craziest stats of all foreign goalies but imo it is going to be hard to translate. I think if he put up another season like this one he is definitely top 5 even with the little graduations in the top 5. He could really be a steal.

I totally agree on Blomqvist being a wildcard. Those numbers were WILD. I also remember a minority of scouts saying he should have gone first round - his supporters were very high on him. We probably get a Jarry - Blomqvist tandem in 2024-25 and that should be fun.

McTavish deserve to be in that LW column imo. Bias aside he’s just unreal

While I agree he has tremendous upside, I don’t think he is LW column worthy. Those are the guys who win individual awards. I could see him being up there if he continues to improve but tbh I think he is more of a C column guy. If I were to redraft the 2021 draft 1 year later, mctavish slips a bit but it’s not really his fault as I think he was a reach but has the capability to be a top 3 player in that draft. It’s a very good class and I don’t really see anybody in the top 10 being a bust at the moment.

You can make a general team by clicking the NHL logo and it will be sorta cleaner than this

To me he's #3, I think Wallstedt and Askarov are studs, Levi is in the same category...but he's smaller. Then there is a second tier after them...Portillo should probably be considered in that tier. Sabres might actually have 3 top 10 goalie prospects.

Askarov
Wallstedt
Levi
Cossa
Wolf
Dostal
Portillo
UPL
Kochetkov
Tarasov

UPL is not below Portillo. UPL had some real good games in the NHL and was catching some momentum before he got hurt. This year is make or break but hes still pretty decent. Im down on him but not that bad

I was going to do that but tbh I didn’t want to create all the players on the reserve list. Any tips on the team?

Imo he definitely should have gone top 2. Still have him as a top prospect and the best from the 2022 draft but he could definitely prove me wrong. Kinda hard to rank 100 prospects tbh, and at the end it becomes a headache to rank after selecting the top guys. I could see an argument to move Sanderson up but I don’t really see one to move Wright down.

Yes, any lists are always going to be a pain to make! Very well done IMO, hard to rank prospects unbiased if you can or one team. Like as a sabres fan I would probably have had Rosen on this list but it's just all a big debate.

Yea, I actually like this better than a team, because we can see who exactly is on the list from each team!

For other team….I think Sanderson belongs in top tier; Marchenko, Faber, Knies, Morrow should be second tier.

I have heard good things about gritstuk, can you tell me more about him, he’s the only one from your top 50 that I don’t have in the top 100. The devils were tied for third with top 100 players. I just made a second one with just the top 2 prospects and I think that will have less disparity amongst it. The problem is is that there are so many good players in NHL systems and not everybody can be included. I reviewed other lists for this and my own personal rankings and some had gritstuk in the top 100 and others didn’t. I saw him as high as 60s.

Marchenko is hard to rank, he’s clearly CBJs most NHL ready prospect but I treat him similar to a jack drury from Carolina in the sense that he is the most NHL ready prospect but not the best. Marchenko could be a dark horse Calder candidate this year. Knies I know toronto fans love but I’m not as high on him. Fabers value I saw sky rocket among the community after the fiala trade and morrow, as a canes fan, I tried to be modest on and eliminate bias so I ranked him lower than I would have.

Gritsyuk was a bit of a late bloomer. Didn’t get much attention in his draft year. The following season (D+1) he was linemates in juniors with Chinakhov and they tore it up. In his D+2 season, he didn’t get much time anywhere. He was the last forward off the KHL team as Avangard was loaded with veterans (and win the championship). He split time between there, juniors and VHL (their version of AHL). But he really garnered attention at world juniors that year and was probably Russia’s best winger before getting hurt town the end. In his D+3 season, he led KHL in scoring for his age group and below and was youngest regular on their Olympic team. By end of season, he was a top-line option on one of the better teams in KHL.

He is a winger that can play either side (and played some center in juniors). He appears very calm, steady with puck and very active off the puck in o-zone. Can stick-handle well in tight spaces. He has a great shot, mostly from an accurate, quick-release. For his size, he is excellent at puck retrieval in corners (often reminds me of Nico Hischier in that regard). He has played mostly defensive situations on Russian national teams…so I think the defense is adequate. Not very physical. Good skater, but not a burner.

Knies is a stud who was often in my top-20 in draft year. Delivered as one of the best players in all college hockey this year. Will be in Tkachuckian mold.

Faber, his teammate, was best dman on a loaded blueline. If the new trend for young dmen is finding guys who can defend with their skating ability, Faber (and Sanderson) are the lead examples.

Morrow, is unfinished, amazing talent who can play a little reckless at times. But he is a smart player, if he can put it together in all zones, his ceiling is in that top tier.

Marchenko will be regular 25-25 guy I think. But agree that he is tough to rank since SKA pulled the plug on him when he didn’t re-sign. Also, not the stereotypical Russian winger - straight-line player who likely adapts well in NHL.
