Thoughts on Lund and Havelid?

Both seem like reached based on who the Sharks passed on but each intriguing picks.

I can’t help but feel disappointed compared to our past drafts. But there’s a lot of scouts who reportedly really like Lund and Havelids.

Sources telling me Elias Pettersson to the Canucks

They’ve had a pretty good draft, I’d have them up with the Habs/Kraken if they’d taken someone I like more than Haight, but probably still 3rd at best. 3/4 really good selections doesn’t beat 5/5 or 6/6 for me, especially when the Habs/Kraken have the highest end talent. When I do my draft rankings like I did last year, I anticipate they’ll get an A (8 teams per A/B/C/D and they’re comfortably top 8 atm).

I really like Havelid and Lund is a very interesting prospect too. Havelid was a candidate to jump into the 1st for me (I mocked him to VAN at 15 which I knew was a huge reach but there’s a reason he was my off the board pick). He’s very small, but very fast, and super talented offensively with an elite shot from the blueline (shoots right too). Lund is a big centre with a good shot and good skating, just needs to work on consistency. Comfortably an early- to mid-2nd round talent so not really a reach there imo.

Great now in a few years whoever's the GM is gonna trade him for 2 2nds

Hamara’s actually the first pick that probably shoulda gone higher, but I couldn’t tell you why we’ve taken two LD with our first three picks when we literally have Chabot+Sanderson for the next decade.
