Oilers probably don’t do this.

Chicago probably wants more for that.

Never thought about Muzzin to NJD but doubt it.

Ducks decline. With Gibby on the block Stolie goes nowhere. If they decide not to move Gibson, a 3rd doesn’t get it done.

I don’t think Oilers give up a younger, slightly better and less expensive player for kerfoote. Adding a pick on top of that is a little absurd.

The Puljujarvi return has been rumored to be no more than a 2nd (https://www.sportsnet.ca/article/once-again-puljujarvi-wants-out-and-oilers-are-ready-to-accommodate-with-a-trade/). I agree that Puljujarvi is better (much better imo), but he's severely undervalued. Maybe take out the 3rd from that trade.

At the end of the day, he's 1 year from UFA. No name goalies on expiring contracts don't get big returns, although I can understand the Ducks not wanting to trade him.

Wouldn't mind at all just paying the rumored 2nd rd pick asking price for Puljujarvi. Kerfoot should have similar perceived value based on his 50 pts this season.

Hard to say how much Holl is valued around the league, but perhaps a 2nd or 3rd rd pick sweetener would be necessary.

NJ's left defense is incredibly weak. They have cap space and look like they're aiming to be competitive this year. If they land Gaudreau and a decent goalie, Muzzin could be appealing to round out their team (although they might be tight against the cap at that point with Bratt).

Cant underpay RFAs like that, especially those with RFA arbitration rights....use this site and take a look at arbitration rulings/settlements and you'll see that players similar to Engvall in age and production (Copp/Dickinson/etc...) all got 2mil+ as a RFA settlement.

You cant just underpay Miles Wood or Engvall, the trades seem a bit light (all on the TOR side), doubt Muzzin waives, the team got old quick

I get why he wouldn’t be worth a 1st or anything like that to Toronto. But that’s why he just wouldn’t be moved. He’s worth more than a 3rd to ANA, even behind Gibson. Maybe at TDL

Stolarz isn't just a backup goalie, he's a backup goalie that comes attached to 1.5M in open cap space. The going rate around the league for a reliable backup is 2.5M. If a cap team like Toronto wants to have Stolarz at only 1M they are going to pay a price for that.

We're not expecting the moon for the guy don't get me wrong, but a 3rd probably late in the round isn't getting it done.
