I'm getting kinda tired of these Anderson proposals. Barrie for Anderson. NO. What's the point of trading a valuable long term signed power forward, for an old defensive liable defenseman who's overpaid slightly, and expiring in a year or 2. And no, I don't care that Bob Stauffer said that it's a good base. Habs woudknt do that. Also, Pens Fans, Habs are not trading Anderson for a lazy Kasperi Kapanen + a cap dump in Brock McGinn + a 3rd rounder. Anderson is much more valuable than Kapanen and anything else. And I don't care what hocus pocus rumor you saw. It's stupid for habs to do that.
Everyone thinks Anderson is on a bad contract, he's not. He may be 750k overpaid, or something, but people exaggerated it because of the long term Deal. And actually, since the Deal is long term, it gives more value to Anderson.
Anderson is a great power forward, he can get 20 goals a year, he's great in puck battles, and in front of the net, he's a very good physical player. He's fast. He's a leader. He has experience. And he's not too shabby on defense. Overall, he's a good 2nd liner, if you put him with the right linemates. Therefore, these are the only trades I'd do for Anderson, woth thought of the things I pointed out that he's good at.
Hope yall understand and don't throw around lowballs for Anderson, as he's much more valuable to is than you think, therefore, it'd require an overpayment.
Thanks!
If we're dealing Anderson here, we should expect a power forward in return. That's what we need from Pulijujarvi. He's literally Anderson, just slightly worse in all aspects. REMEMBER, he's been playing with McDavid and Draisaitl his whole career.
We also would need a 1st or a former 1st rounder, to even up the value, and we'll even take on Barrie, and we'll give you a 3rd. This trade is fair trade that I think could work well for both teams.
I don't see any power forward of interest on the Pens, therefore it'd cost more.
It's a 1st rounder + a prospect that hasn't turned out as expected + a goalie prospect
2nd is there in case a couple of these bust
Other option could be John Marino, but with Letang leaving, I doubt Pittsburgh would want to trade him, but this is what I'd want.
Marino, who is over-rated + a meh prospect + 3rd on case prospect busts
If you add Zacha or Blackwood, then it's worth considering.
This year's 2nd overall, isn't as valuable as past years.
And if it were up to me, I'd choose Nemec at #2, not Slafkovsky
Good. This is our price. Take it or leave it.
We are no way accepting a lowball under any circumstances
"We" You shouldn't be so controlling of things you don't own. Gee, Anderson puts up Mikheyev numbers and Mikheyev isn't putting getting 5m as UFA....Neither is Copp.
Enjoy that contract, then. He's played 5 full NHL seasons and been above 0.5/PPG -once-.
The issue with power forwards, and why many people don't put a high value on his contract, is that they tend to enter their decline years quicker, since they bang around more often and compile more nagging injuries. Anderson just turned 28 and is signed through his age-33 season. The likelihood that he all of a sudden jumps to a perennial 25 goal/50 point guy is low - he's at the tail end of his peak years as it is already.

Gee, Anderson can just become like Gallagher who has fell off like a stone.
The Oilers already have a better version of Anderson at the same cap hit in Hyman. Can't see why the Oil would be looking at him when Yamo and Pulju's combined cap may end up being the same. Just not a priority type of player at all.

Your description: "Here's a heavily-biased take on the player's strengths without a hint of consideration for the acquiring team's needs or limitations. Also, his contract's term is actually a good thing that gives him MORE value and the fact that he's injury-prone doesn't matter at all. Note that any disagreement with this take means you're wrong and are undervaluing Anderson."
Man calls Marino overrated but proceeds to call Josh Anderson a valuable asset worth a 1st a 2nd and 2 prospects LMAO. Buddy thinks hes playing NHL GM mode
@BeterChiarelli
I'm tagging you here, because I don't want people to see it, and they come after me, and get angry at me or something
I was wondering if I'd be allowed to create my own GM Game on capfriendly ?
I have some good ideas, and it would be more friendly and all.
Is that possible for me to do?

Probably not, at least we wouldn't be able to sanction it.
All signs are pointing to the GM Game getting shut down temporarily anyways.
Anderson is a cap dump. The reality is you're stuck with his contract unless you're willing to pay AZ or Seattle to take it.
LOL at your fantasyland proposal. Ridiculously bad take.
I absolutely agree with you but I'm afraid some GM is bound to be stupid and actually spends on Anderson. How much, I don't know, frankly anything over a third is an overpayment.
The black hole Chiarot got first plus prospect and that says all we need to know about the competence of GMs.
