The Devils should not be in a hurry in their building phase and therefore should not make that trade. I think a deal revolving around Nylander for Severson could work, but that's only if the Devils have a RHD in mind to replace Severson's abilities and minutes. A healthy Blackwood with a healthy D-core in front of him is better than Jack Campbell imo, so Devs aren't interested in that

So quick to decline this but its pretty good value isn’t it? Ya you gotta move from the 2nd spot but you get a young controllable defencemen and still pick 25th overall. Haven’t even talked about the fact you get an at least 80 point winger who can probably push 100 some years. Yes I get it he got 2 years left, why are devils fans so quick to assume they couldn’t extend him?
Campbell vs Blackwood is debatable but there’s a lot of value there. Severson would depend if the devils can resign him, prob be a rental for the leafs. I wouldn’t do this as a leafs fan.

Nylander isn’t the type of forward we are seeking. Not trying to replace Blackwood. And Sandin would eventually be redundant with Smith, Hughes, etc.
