The Kings cant retain on Doughty but they should look to move him in my opinion.
Quick is still good and holds value. No reason to buy him out.
Lizotte is good and was just resigned. He wont be traded and is good as a stopgap until a younger center can breakthrough

Doughty was fantastic last season until the injury, he is showing signs of bouncing back and I think he is motivated to retire a King.

The Kings aren't going to be pulling a Lundqvist on Jonathan Quick. You don't buyout your best goaltender in franchise history and future hall of famer, especially when he's playing the best hockey of his career.

The Kings aren't trading Doughty. He was in the middle of a Norris-caliber season before he got injured. They're certainly not going to retain any salary on his deal. Even in crazyland if the Kings decided they did want to move him, there's no way he would waive his NMC to move from Manhattan Beach to Missouri.

Blake Lizotte was one of the Kings best bottom six players last year. They're not going to move him either. They just rewarded him with an extension.

The only way that Lizotte-to-SJ could be a decent option for SJ is if they determine that Bordeleau is better off developing in the AHL rather than starting as SJ's 3C next season.

Not a trade proposal I was expecting from the Kings, but I wouldn't object to Lizotte joining the Sharks. I'd accept that if I were Will.

There's absolutely no incentive -- or rational reason -- to buy out Jonathan Quick or trade Blake Lizotte for a stab or even bother asking Drew Doughty to waive his NMC.
