First off he's monstrously worse at his job compared to Murray, and it seems basically inevitable that Murray will end up on permanent LTIR, assuming he's not there already. He's got a mile long injury history and he's still dealing with symptoms from a concussion months later.

High cap hits + long-term contracts especially for 28yo+ veterans are worse than a contract that expires in 2-3 years.
