Welcome to CapFriendly. Since you welcomed comments......well, you weren't very cap friendly to the other teams. Myers may not be worth his contract so teams aren't giving back just picks for him...maybe another 6m player(s). Or CBJ could y9u that 6m and sign a UFA, and not give up anything.
No reason for Arizona to take on Poolman, if he isn't worth his contract. Maybe if the Canucks gave the Coyotes a third
Bruins don't need OEL, and certainly want his long term cap.
Certainly that's a massive overpay for Vegas. Miller is just a one year rental as he is a UFA of the end of the season
Moral of the story. There is a big difference between "on ice value" compared to "trade value". Contract $$$$ and term mean so much as do other teams cap.
Now that I think about OEL's contract, I do agree with you about him being in Boston. If that was the case, then OEL's contract may be really hard to trade to another team with that cap and term. Other than that, personally, getting OEL in was a bad move considering there are many other cheaper options to replace him. If we let the 3 bad contracts in Beagle, Eriksson and Roussell go, we would have saved 12 million.
For Poolman, I thought about what we could get for him and giving them a 3rd does balance it out.
For the Miller trade, I thought about what we could get out of him if we got OEL off the books and how valuable he would be. It does seem too much now that I look at it. If it was Whitecloud, Brisson, and a 2023 or 2024 1st, then it may be a bad trade than expected.
My reasoning behind creating this list is because again the team needs more picks, prospects, and cap space to make up for our past GM's mistakes. He set us back for at least 3 years with his moves.
Also, I'll think about other team's cap situation/value of contracts/players more next time I create another one thanks.
