Description
From NRD, and even the Friedman and Dregers, it sounds like Kevyn Adams is going to be somewhat aggressive this offseason.

Montreal would seriously consider this. Savard is not the fatest but he got experience, he is mean and would be a good fit for the early stage of is career. He help Gavrikov in is early stage and now he is a very solid defender.

Since habs will trade Petry I don't see how savard can be expendable even if the value is fair.

Miller's comparables from past seasons put him around a 3rd in value, doubt they get a 2nd. Mike Reilly to Boston for a 3rd and Brandon Montour to Florida for a 3rd would show his value.

If the rumors are true for Letang contract in Pittsburgh, Montréal will be the front runner to acquire him. I don’t see Petry being move any time soon unless a team is willing to pay the cost to acquire a top 4 defenceman. If those prophecy came into reality Savard is expendable. If Petry beiing move then i agree on you to keep him around to mentoring the young stud( Harris, Guhle,)

Exactly my thoughts. Hughes will probably have a deal with Letang before the Draft if he ever signs with Montreal. Then, he could trade Petry to get picks or prospects, with retention or not, at the draft. With Letang in, Savard becomes also available for a draft day trade, and that frees cap space for Free agency.

I think you’d need to add a buffalo 2nd to fiala.

I would rather look somewhere else where the Wild can get a better secondary piece than Mittlestadt. We don't really have any use for another third liner.

Savard being 1RD by default would be worse than not having him at all.
If Petry moves there has to be a top 4RHD coming in regardless of Savard being here.
If we don't pick up an NHL ready RHD prospect on top of that, we aren't making any progress either.

Same, but moving Petry is already destroying our defense without a replacement plan. Savard is not that.
Keeping him doesn't make a difference if we don't have someone ahead of him.
I'd bring in any number of veterans for less money and term before I would put Savard in that position.

I’ve low key liked Miller for years but no he’s not worth a 2nd. I’d personally pass.
