The only cap dumps Montreal has interest in are those on expiring contracts this year. We aren't taking players signed past this season so how about. Koskinen + Bourgault + 1st for Allen (half retained) + Drouin still 1.5 Mil retained?

We can afford to keep Koskinen who’s been playing well lately, I’d say get rid of Smith, but I don’t think that’s an option for you guys. I also do believe Holland is very high on seeing his 1st round pick Bourgault come to fruition, it was a gamble to take him over Wallstedt and so it would take a lot to move the needle there. Other than that, some other options may be Russell, Turris etc.

Yeah, I get all that but if we are taking back cap AND retaining on Drouin the the cost will be high. I also think Koskinen stays and taking a goalie back with another year if term is not an option for the Habs. Next season I see Price, Montembeault and Hammond as our 3 goalies and Allen being moved this TDL or over the summer.
