I don’t see the point in moving Marner to then have 3 5 million dollar forwards. Ya they are all good and it’s more spread out but overall is that gonna change much? At least improve the defence if Marner is going.

And pretty sure campbell can still get 4-5 million on a shorter deal. That’s all going to come down to how the playoffs go, no way to predict it now.

Penalty Killer who is on pace for 50-60 points (none of which are PP) this season who can play winger or center I would say is definitely worth a first if not more

Just wanna put this out there: At this moment, there are 19 pending UFA goalies who have appeared in 10 or more games. Campbell not only has the most wins with 23, he also has the 2nd best GAA & SV% (2.46/.920), bested only by Ville Husso who's played 19 games compared to Campbell's 37.

Is there a chance he falls completely apart between now and the end of the year and tanks his next contract? Sure, then you can probably get him for 2x$2.5M. But you're giving him less than David Rittich got after one good season of 2.61/.911 in 2019, or slightly more than Adin Hill got after 4 years & 49 games of 2.79/.909.

He might not break the bank, but he's getting *at least* $5M AAV on his next deal. He'd be crazy to settle for less.
