Hextall and Burke fired Carter to minors
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pens1991</b></div><div>"The cap hit also cannot be reduced via a buyout, and if a player on a 35+ contract is assigned to the minors beyond the first year of the contract it would only reduce his cap hit by $100,000." So you can do it, but it only takes $100,000 off the cap, so again, this just doesn't work and if they tried that Carter would just retire and they're stuck with his full contract. Can't get out of it, pens have to eat it for one more year.</div></div>
Wonder if they can do what they did with Bjugstad and retain 50% and trade somewhere he’d be ok playing for legit nothing

He is sent to the minors. Pens don’t owe Carter anything, take your $3.125M and enjoy 6 months in WBS
Also I agree with Jarry but it will be tough negotiations
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pens1991</b></div><div>too much for Jarry, if he can't stay healthy for a whole season i'm not paying over $5M. Also carter's contract is here to stay next year, pens fans need to face that, it can't go anywhere.</div></div>

Zucker either gets Nino N deal in NSH, a little more, or can go. 3.85-4.5 is the range I’d give.

In TOR, Kapanen was a great two way forward. Again, Sullivan doesn’t use Kapanen properly and fans are calling him out here.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>Dumo is of little consequence with his contract being up at the end of the year, the premise of flipping him is unrealistic though. But I still think CHI would negotiate a different return for sending Domi and taking Dumo and McGinn dumps. Also, in a month PIT fans could be singing Dumo and McGinn's praises and not want to dump them. Things change too quickly.</div></div>
No i wanted Dumo gone two offseason ago, he’s too soft.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wildnochance</b></div><div>Faber is replacing him. Besides you not caring anything about wild cap,, Minnesota isn't trading a 1st round pick, or Faber for anything especially to take on domi and long term contract in connir. Greenway isn't getting traded for a cap dump. Dumba isn't getting traded for cap dump and 2nd. It's a bait</div></div>
Kapanen has more points that Greenway— and ever since his scratch, he has been very good. He needs away from Mike Sullivan

I have never admitted to trolling? I wasn’t trolling— who is going to replace Dumba? Addison would be best on third pair for now imo

I think CHI would do it knowing they have one retention slot left, assuming 88 and 19 are traded and retained, and can get a third from a. contending team for 50% retained of Dumoulin

Side note - calling Rust soft is a bit crazy don't ya think? Inconsistent for sure</div></div>
He was signed during season last year before Malkin and Letang, a joke. And yeah Rust is good at times, but team needed a new element and too many of the same type of players. Rust is a product of Crosby and Malkin.
