Uh did you guys hear the latest SDPN podcast in which Steve was told from a source that Bettman/NHL nixed a potential Arizona trade for Weber's contract? That's why they went for Byran Little instead.

Apparently he didn't like the fact that Arizona was going to be that much under the cap. If that is true, that is a major kick to the nads of Hughes as I think ARI was the only team that realistically made a ton for sense for getting Weber. Last option may be Nashville if Weber decides to officially retire but who knows if he wants to finally do it.

I don't think many teams want to be locked into using LTIR cap for the next 5 years is why Im not sure any team wants him for that purpose anymore. TB was definitely an option until they got Seabrook. Other than that, I don't see any other teams doing it.

I think the Habs might be stuck with Weber's contract after all. Which means, they'll either have to be well under the cap to fit him in normally while they rebuild which is fine or right up to the cap to be able to utilize his cap relief.

But he's okay with them taking 5 cap dumps per season and playing on a duck pond, while hemorrhaging money and being propped up financially by Montreal dollars.

Armia is solid at both ends. He doesn't play with speed, but he's good with his stick. If he were a little faster or better at passing, he'd be more dangerous.
As it is, he's strongest fighting for the puck in a crowd or against the boards, but not at getting it to a teammate after the fact.

Finishing is a major problem for him
