I actually think it’s quite possible Guerin does make a move and pickup a rental. But it def shouldn’t be at the expense of a 1st and Khusnutdinov.

IMO we shouldn’t really be dishing out a 1st and high end prospect for any rental, including Hertl.

Braun isn't worth a 2nd let alone a prospect and a 2nd. He's a depth pick up. Would be the 7/8th dman on a contender. You may get more from a bubble team outwest but I am not sure those teams are going to want to spend big since the difference between being a playoff team and a contender is massive wide. Sending futures when you clearly aren't up to the top teams standard seems unwise.

I bet it's going to be a buyer's market this year. The east is basically set all ready. If you are out of the playoff picture now, you aren't getting in in the east. The west is more wide open but there you see Vegas and Colorado far better than the rest. St Louis and Nashville are having decent seasons but are not on the same level and the rest of the west would be bottom feeders in the east. I think this could mean there will be 10 buyers only and 22 sellers or teams not doing anything. Returns may suffer from that.

Braun is a 7/8 on the Leafs and would barely cost a 2nd, let alone a decent prospect AND a 2nd.

Edmonton should not trade their 1st for a couple rentals.
