Gotta be a first rounder included in a trade involving Klingberg. If f*cking Chiarot will muster a 1st, so will Klingberg.

Story checks out.

Much too much for Miller. Klingberg probably nets a better return from another team, but NSH doesn't have any interest in the first place, if they're not gifting Fabbro to VAN.

I would disagree, he would want a big contract that I am not sure the preds will want to do, I think a 2nd and 2 prospects is a super fair trade.

Fabbro has been solid this year and been developing accordingly so Nashville shouldn’t trade him at all. I’m pleasantly surprised how well our defense played this year so I wouldn’t change a thing. Plus we have good defenseman waiting in the ahl for a chance. Jt Miller is a solid player that could help Nashville but I’m not paying no where close to that.

Fair if you guys wouldn't make this trade, but that is not an overpayment for Miller at all

I think a Miller deal to NSH would be more likely to revolve around Myers. I just can't see NSH trading either of Fabbro or Carrier right now.

Can’t see Dallas trading Klingberg to a division rival for that little. Better offers will present themselves.

It's on par with the return for Eichel. Miller is a good top six player at a nice cap hit, but he's not a game changer.

No, that package isn't quite as valuable as the Eichel package

Tolvanen < Tuch

Krebs = Fabbro

Miller may not be a total game changer, but he's the next closest thing

I mean JT Miller is quite literally the definition of a game changer…if you don’t like the trade that’s fine and that’s understandable but ive said it once and I’ll say it again, look at every aspect of his game (TOI, usage, FO%, points) and you’ll find he is a 1C. What does it cost for a 1C these days who is 28 and is under 2 years of control for 5.25 mil?

I'd have to disagree with your evaluations. I see it more like:

Fabbro > Tuch

Tolvanen > Krebs

A 23 yr old top pairing RD, 22 yr old sniper, 1st and a 3rd still feels high to me for a year and a half of Miller. For a team desperate for centers - maybe. For a team like NSH who'd be acquiring a 2nd line winger - definitely too much.

Nashville is not desperate for Centermen, their only forward regulars who can't play center are Forsberg and Jeannot, but everyone else can. Tolvanen hasn't fully devloped yet so nobody is going to overestimate his value when it's still mostly mired in potential outlook, and I wouldn't call Fabbro a bonafied top pairing guy yet, definitely top 4 caliber for sure, but not definitively top pairing

I wasn't suggesting NSH is desperate for centers - the opposite, actually. Sorry if that wasn't clear. Aren't Krebs and Tuch's values based more in potential than performance to date though? I don't feel you can say Fabbro and Tolvanen are being overestimated based on potential, when the same argument can be made for Krebs and Tuch.

Tuch's value is absolutely not based on potential, he's 25 years old and has a very attractive track record with Vegas, he's at least as valuable as Fabbro and likely more valuable than Tolvanen right now for sure. Krebs of course is based on potential, I would say he's about equal to Fabbro though

Tuch's getting paid $4.75M until he's 30, for hitting 20 goals one time (yes, he presumably would have surpassed that in a full season last year, but still). BUF better pray he still has untapped potential, or he could wind up being the worst piece in that return.

I'm not as optimistic on Krebs, or as pessimistic on Fabbro as you, but to each their own.

Amen, I suppose I'm more optimistic than you are about Tuch. Some people including me believe he still has 30 goal 50 point potential. I know I used the word "potential" there, but seeing at the point paces he has scored at in the past, I don't think it's far fetched at all. He's going to be playing higher up the lineup in Buffalo than he did in Vegas and get a lot more opportunity. Not saying he will be a top line caliber player, I don't think his ceiling is quite that high, but I do believe he can be a 2nd line bargain of a winger. He's a great skater, big body, good hockey sense, and has decent puck handling skills. He can also work as a checking forward which was what he did in Vegas for the most part

TBF, it's a little disingenuous to refer to this package as a 2nd and two prospects, when one of the "prospects" is 31 yr old Matt Tennyson.

I fail to understand why people continually say Miller is a top 6 forward... The guy is currently 16th in NHL scoring and has 154 points in 156 games over the last 3 years in Vancouver. He isn't a top 6 forward he is a first line player, and a pretty good one at that. People need to watch some current games, he is not the player he was when he was traded to Vancouver, and hasn't been for 3 years.

People also keep quoting in various threads that certain trades being proposed (not just MIller trades) are in the range of what Eichel returned. The Eichel trade had so many variables that complicated matters and likely dropped his return. He's a top player in the NHL but I don't think his trade value reflects what a healthy player of his caliber would return.

All that being said I agree that Miller isn't the type of player NASH should be targeting.
