Most competitive scenario trade for Miller
I would rather Cody glass than the 2 prospects in the trade but I actually wonder if Nashville is a team very interested in miller. Don’t they have to move forward and try to win now with Josi/eckholm/duchene/granlund ++ all at the age where they need to win now. I mean there’s no dissembling this team so shouldn’t they go for it? They certainly will have the space to sign miller long term but like I said I would rather glass + 1st + fabbro for miller + myers with retention

Not sure what 5 v 5 stats you’re looking at, but literally everything says Marino is better. I know you Canucks fans don’t live in the same universe as the rest of us and tend to be homers but y’all are really starting to challenge leafs and Habs fans for most delusional. No offense. I mean the first step to recovery is admission and until you do that there is no help. You Canucks fans wouldn’t be trading for Marino if you didn’t know he is better than your teams garbage lol</div></div>
Check the level of competition each guy plays against. Anyways, it’s a Pointless arguement cause the reality comes down to the fact that it’s my opinion that for this season I stand by my view. And on top of that, had you read the description you would’ve noticed that I said this was an unrealistic trade given the money exchanging hands so I’m gonna leave it at that

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brgh4life</b></div><div>Over the last 3 seasons Myers at 5v5 has a negative shot differential, scoring chance differential, high danger chance differential, goal differential, and expected goal differential. Marino is greater than 50% in all of those categories.
In that same time span Myers has 12 goals and 53 points. Marino has 10 goals and 57 points. Marino played 156 games to Myers 171. Marino is more effective defensively and offensively while being 1.6 mill cheaper and 8 years younger. Horrible trade</div></div>
Did you happen to check the isolated numbers for this season? Or take into consideration the usage of each player. Or how about the “soft factors” with regard to the fact that myers hasn’t exactly played on a good team/good partner in a position where he could succeed? Or did you look at the numbers in the postseason? I’m not going to dispute in however long which player turns out to be better or who has the better contract. Simply put, I think myers could help the pens more than Marino this season/postseason. You can disagree and that’s fine

If that was the case then you wouldn’t be trading him to us. Everybody knows that Marino is better than Myers in every way and Kapanen is better than Pearson. And the difference is much more than a 3rd. How about Matheson for EP40 half retained and a 3rd?</div></div>
I disagree. 5v5 numbers would back me up. I won’t even address the EP comment because there’s no comparable between the 2

I mean JT Miller is quite literally the definition of a game changer…if you don’t like the trade that’s fine and that’s understandable but ive said it once and I’ll say it again, look at every aspect of his game (TOI, usage, FO%, points) and you’ll find he is a 1C. What does it cost for a 1C these days who is 28 and is under 2 years of control for 5.25 mil?

time to go all in
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Britishbulldog</b></div><div>A couple of things with the Leafs/JT Miller trades.
If we are looking for 50% retention next year then I thought that this would be too much dead cap space for Vancouver to carry. Maybe a Vancouver fan can give me better perspective on that.
Next, I would say JT Miller's value on his own (without retention) would be top 6 forward, top prospect, 1st pick and maybe a decent depth defenceman (no offence to the majority of Vancouver's current defence). Miller has been basically lights out for Vancouver but his time in NY (maxing out at 22 goals) as well as his full season in TBay (13 goals in 75 games) he wasn't that great . I would hate to give up too much to only see him return to that level.
I would have proposed Kerfoot who is also playing great now that he is finally healthy for the Leafs after multiple serious injuries. Ambramov who has a high cielling, 2023 1st Pick and Holl who has struggled a bit this year but has shown for 2 years that he can play the RHD shut down role. Holl is now just starting to play like his old self. I think that would be fair for Miller and Schenn. Schenn is playing with Hughes but lacks the foot speed and hockey IQ to really let Hughes play to Hughes potential. Schenn would be the Leafs 8th dman on the depth chart in case of injuries in the playoffs.
The retention of 50% for 1 1/2 seasons would be around $4 MIL in total and I would guess would be worth a 3rd pick to a 3rd team if Vancouver can't carry the dead cap space next season.
So...Kerfoot, Ambramov, 1st Pick, Holl, 3rd Pick for JT Miller (1/2 retained), Schenn</div></div>
This is well thought out and relatively close in value in my opinion, but it doesn’t quite address the Canucks need if you ask me. I would rather see him(if he is moved) garner a pick + a blue chip RD (Schneider, Barron) + roster player. Canucks should not be looking at a return for Miller come in the form of an elite forward prospect but that’s just my opinion

Yeah I’m really hoping these Miller proposals stop. I’m not opposed to trading him based on the contract situation, but based on his numbers, contract and the fact that he plays in all situations and has great face off numbers, he’s a 1c. Maybe not on your team, but he’s still a 1c. If Canucks eat half of that salary, he will command an absolute haul if he’s dealt this year. To put it mildly, he’s being disrespected with the offers

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>You're way out of your depth here...
Boeser's hot right now, and has had consistency and injury issues his entire career. Only 280 games for someone whos almost 25 and meant to be an elite talent? That's already a red flag.
Millers notes as a locker room cancer didn't come from nowhere. The face these rumors exist mean something happened. We may never know what, but to say the rumor is dispelled is very much making at clear you're looking through rose tinted glasses.
kK's 7 years younger, under team control, and scoring at a 0.8 PPG rate... I fail to see how that deal is worse than a 28 year old with only 2 years remaining until he hits the free agent market and plays a less important position. The fact you're arguing this proves you're out of your depth.</div></div>
Guess that means red flags for Kucherov too not having that many games under his belt At that age…believe what you want about Miller but the Canucks are a better team with him for whatever that’s worth so I guess he’s not taking as big of a toll on the room as you’re assuming. And I won’t even entertain this conversation about KK, pumping his tires about being .8 ppg over the course of a month while poo pooing boeser for doing the exact same over his entire career. He’s not hot right now, this is simply who he is…it’s clear you know nothing about the game/business or are just so biased you can’t see clearly…
This is honestly bizarre at this point. Lol KK gtfo

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>He's been doing it for longer than Boeser has, yet Canucks fans are willing to call him a suddenly elite winger under Boudreau... KK's been scoring at this rate for over a month, he's proven its sustainable. Trocheck has also been kinda ass this year. Defensively he struggles and offensively he's just not there. Miller is still causing major off-ice issues for the organization, and it will take a lot longer than 6 games under a new coach to prove that supposed rift between the players has been fixed.</div></div>
You wanna talk about being out of your depth…you’re just shooting down your own credibility with that boeser take…if you think boeser is just now bursting on the scene after Bruce took over you should probably do a bit of research as he’s scoring about .4 goals a game over his career (280 games). As everyone else said, Miller has a lot of passion and is a fiery player, but the locker room cancer notion has been dispelled by all accounts..you’re out of your mind if you’re even comparing his deal with KK. Blasphemy that you’re even having this conversation.

Buch is still shaking in his boots from the daily bullying he took from Jonathan Tanner, too bad Reaves wasn't here for that! Many teams will bid, but not a ransom, thankfully not us anyway</div></div>
Funny you used the phrase “straight facts” while also spewing a bunch of opinionated nonsense while I’m giving you “legitimate facts” as to why he’s worth more than whatever you think he is..I would personally trade him because they shouldn’t resign him when he’s 30 but all the reports about him being shopped have been shut down so once again, it’s not “straight facts” homie

Excuse me?
1. Get your facts straight as he’s been traded 2 times, not 3.
2. He was traded from Tampa because of cap reason (didn’t hear anything about him having attitude issues)
3. It’s prettt much all conjecture about him having attitude issues. Maybe he does maybe he doesn’t. Atleast he cares and it doesn’t seem to be hurting his production
4. Teams with a good leadership core will have faith that one player won’t disrupt the group (ie kadri in Colorado or whatever example you wanna use)
Point stands that at half of his salary, he’s going nowhere for a late first + minimal assets

Yeah we gotta stop with this…Miller is continuously criminally undervalued..2.65 million for TWO years of a ppg guy, can play any situation in any position who elevates his game in the playoffs is going to net a haul. Not a late first and good prospect

Would be a bad time to sell tbh because he had a bad year but I personally think he’s worth everything he’s being paid when he’s playing well. Transports the puck, can make a good first pass, great shot. He’s decent in the d zone and relatively physical but they’ll never get good value for him right now. Canucks need a big young RD or cheapish middle 6er
