They can't give Kadri 6 years at that high of an AAV. They just can't. I think they'd let him walk before doing so.

I also don't understand the Newhook for Caulfield trade. Newhook is still needed for if/when father time catches up to Kadri.

There is zero chance Sakic gives Kadri a 6 year deal, and I think there is a very good chance someone offers him $6.5M+. Just don’t see it in the cards for him re-signing. Trading Newhook who can play wing doesn’t make any sense for Caulfield who can’t play center. Center depth will always be important.

This is where my heads at. Kadri is probably worth $6.5, but rolling out 6 years for him isn't a smart move.

He wouldn't give a younger Saad that many years so he definitely won't do it with Kadri. I'd think it's 2-3 years which means Kadri will likely walk, especially if they win the Cup this year.
