The reason we are losing is cause we gave up 2 top 9 centers and only replaced 1. Since KK would be easier to reacquire that's why I went with him.

Too bad you can't get Kotkaniemi back, Once an offer sheet is match he's gone for at least one calendar season.

No that is wrong, he couldn't have been traded if Momtreal had matched the OS. Carolina can trade him whereever and whenever they want including back to Montreal

The reason the habs are losing is first and foremost, they weren’t good in the first place. Not playing in a cupcake division will be a rude awakening.
Another reason is the habs lost their best d man.
Another reason is that the expectations put on caufield were preposterous.

Expectations were high for Caufield, but we actually did our best to insulate him and make sure he didn't have to be "the" guy. He didn't have to shoulder the offensive load with our winger depth.

Fact is, we're so scrambled in the defensive zone that by the time we get moving in the right direction, it's later in a shift and disorganized. A lot of the time we're just getting it out to relieve pressure and get in a change before the puck comes right back in.

When we do get offensive control, we're too slow and static to create good openings, which is what our shooters like Caufield need. Instead of movement, we're throwing hot passes, taking bad shots, and not getting to pucks in time.

These are all systematic issues that need to be addressed. It can't be put on the players.

Well, I guess you should have never let KK go in the first place. Canes won’t trade KK back to the Habs in the first place, and even if they did, you can at the very least double or triple what you are giving up in the trade above to even get the canes to even consider.

This brings up an interesting point. If the Habs were to reacquire KK from the Canes, what would you give him on his next contract? Canes can negotiate a cheaper extension for KK whereas the Habs can not. The Habs would have to give KK his QO amount of more if they wanted to get him to sign an extension with them.

Plus you repeatedly throw it back to the point expecting a Weber bomb that will not come. Teams will and have read that, as that is the play that the Habs have been doing ever since Weber went to the Habs.
