Just my opinion, Matthews has no intention of playing in he non hockey town Phoenix or Houston.
Leafs keep what they have, and then a great chance of signing McDavid as a UFA.

Matthews isn’t going to leave simply for the sake of going home. Not at the age of 26 at least. Maybe 10 years after that.
It’s a slightly ridiculous narrative.

Oilers don’t move McDavid, Leafs don’t move Matthews.

How does Matthews get a better return than McDavid haha? Matthews is a great player, but he isn't even remotely close to McDavid.
