Omg that Wahlstrom trade is the worst trade for him Ive seen on here. Why the F would Isles do that!? And the other trades are pointless. Tampa need Seabrooks contract to be compliant.

That's wrong.

If Tampa trades Seabrook his contract comes off the books and is not counted against the cap exactly as the cap relief from him being on LTIR also goes away.

Tampa is currently 6.8 million over the cap and the cap relief is 6.8 million if both of those numbers are removed then Tampa is compiant by exactly the same amount they are with both of them in place.

Tampa is compliant with 9 thousand to spare with or without trading Seabrook.

Huh that's an extremely ignorant statement adding a LTIR contract is never needed to be Cap compliant it in no way helps a teams cap.

It's trading a 1st for Barton + a 6th + $13.5 million (unless his contract is insured).

I'm not convinced an extremely late 1st is worth Barton with how thin we are on RD when it comes to prospects (under contract now or next year).

Make it Newpower and the 6th a 5th and I'm all in.

I haven't had a chance to see how Barton has developed at all so I guess I can't really say either

The only one we have besides Barton is Tuomisto and he's in college. Other than that it's two 5th rounders and a 6th rounder and I'm not counting on them at all.

I still want to go after Liljegren at the trade deadline if Toronto has interest in either Stecher or Namestnikov.

Or I'll even make a deal with Tampa for both the Raddysh brothers since they can't keep them from waivers. A 2nd for both of them and then waive Nielsen and Gagner, put DDK on LTIR and trade Namestnikov and a 2nd for Copp. Starting to look good, isn't it?

Point is an amazing player but I'd rather keep Aho and Necas personally who both aren't as good individually as Point but they'll probably end up just below him.

No, whether Seabrook is on LTIR with Tampa or Chicago....doesn't affect Tampa's cap at all. Just like Boychuk, if Boychuk was on LTIR with the Isles or Buffalo, doesn't affect the ability of the Isles to ice 81.5m of "active" players.

Agreed, plus Point is one year away from getting a very big raise from his current 6.5m deal

Not looking too bad, I've had a big hard on to get Copp in Detroit for awhile now. Basically since they brought in the defensemen they did in Winnipeg. Bringing in Copp would make a potential trade of Bertuzzi or Fabbri not hurt as bad, although I would prefer to keep them for now. I want to see that line of Fabbri Suter and Bertuzzi play together again.

Fabbri is not a true 2nd liner in my eyes but he'd be great on a 3rd line that's good offensively:

Vrána - Larkin - Bertuzzi
Suter - Copp - Zadina
Fabbri - Veleno - Berggren
Ras/Smith - Stephens - Erne

I'd love to see that after the deadline!

Give Fabbri a two year extension and then make a decision on which one to keep of him and Bert when Raymond gets his things in gear.

He already signed an extension with Tampa, I don't know how that would work with a trade though.

I'd still keep Aho though, I think the gap between Aho and Point is not big enough to send Necas as well
