Here is the first example of me trying to know what my team wants.


1. Ottawa wants a #1 RD who can serve as a better partner to Thomas Chabot than Nikita Zaitsev and is able to stay in Ottawa after next year on a affordable contract.


They are hard to get and would likely require sending Zaitsev back the other way or trading Zaitsev somewhere else.


2. Ottawa also wants a #1 or #2 centre that is able to stay in Ottawa on an affordable contract if Tim Stutzle is unable to become a #1 or #2 centre.


They could be easier for Ottawa to take in because we don't have a clear #1 or #2 centre besides Josh Norris.


Christian Dvorak fits that need, he does not need a contract extension anytime soon and there are rumors circulating that Ottawa is interested in acquiring him.


This is an example of a player that Ottawa might want.

Here is the first example of me trying to know what another team wants.

4. It also says "Dvorak could be a good fit with the promising Senators".


5. Logan Brown and Erik Brannstrom are both prospects.


6. They are both first round draft picks.


7. The Coyotes' asking price for Dvorak is met.


8. Could Ottawa afford to part with them?


9. Ottawa has several other prospects on its team.


10. Ottawa has several other 1st round picks or prospects that were once 1st round picks.


11. Therefore, this trade can be made.


12. Both teams know what the other wants and gives that other team what they want.


13. Both teams walk away happy or satisfied.


14. Easy as 1-2-3.
