Wow, i think Crawford is the most overrated goalie in the league. Ahead of Murray, Lundqvist, and Dubnyk??
Crawford has stood on his head so much for them that it's ridiculous. If Kane isn't going, then Crawford better be keeping them in some games. Crawford has saved them multiple times in the playoffs. To me, Crawford is more consistent than Murray and Lundqvist. Dubnyk was hot this season, but when he got cold he got cold

Same could be said with Jake Allen as well as Anderson, they've had some pretty bad stretches too. Too say Dubnyk isn't better than half these guys, I can't wrap my head around
Maybe a few years ago.
His stats have fallen every year since 2012. Until he starts trending back upwards he's not a top 5 goalie in the league.
I don't necessarily think that is fair. A goalies stats can reflect his teams play. The worse the team, the worse the goalie (Most times). Swap Rask with Fleury or Murray in Pittsburgh and we'd be hailing Rask as one of the best goalies in the league. I don't think Rask is a top 5 goalie but not because of the reason you had mentioned.
Budaj had stupendous numbers last year but I wouldn't qualify him as a top 10-15 goalie in the league..... Exaggeration I know but the principle is there.

Yeah good point. However most top 5 goalies are on the best teams in the NHL

Well I would think the better a goalies stats are, the better the team around him would be. Rare to see a goalie with a 2.00 GAA and a .930 SV% (minimum 40+ games) on a non playoff team yet its much easier for a player to have 40-50 goals on a non playoff team team. Example Ovechkin in 13-14.
Anyhoo i don't think Rask is a top 5 goalie even based off pure skills and not stats but then again that is really hard to determine. So its kind of like you have to go with statistics to make your assumption, even though some get the benefit of starting on excellent teams that make stopping 18 shots a night rather easy.
Not surprising to me that Lundqvist has fallen so much in people's eyes (except islanderrangerfan). Surprised that that no one had Freddie Anderson on the list, so many have the Leafs defence the worse since the 1972 Washington Capitals.
