With all due respect, you’re talking about how Peteys stellar game hasn’t come to fruititjon but you are already talking about Wright and Bedard in the top 5 when they haven’t even been drafted into the NHL. There is always a chance they don’t pan out so we cannot use them as a prediction to be top 5 centers. Also the Canucks were one of the worst defensive teams this year and this year happened to be the year where he missed more than half the season with an injury. It’s really hard to help a team when you’re injured. I see him potentially top 5-7 in 5 years from now and he still is top 10 in my opinion.

Look at the time frame… I’m arguing he’s not top 10 right now, but that he will likely be top 7 in 5 years (we agree there, I was just elaborating on who I think will be top 5 by then, which does include Wright and Bedard. Projecting undrafted players is fine for 5 years from now, we’re obviously projecting development and regression from active players, so including soon to be drafted generational talents is fine).
