Winnipeg should have gambled and tested Lowry loyalty and left him unprotected and drive him to airport if somebody offers up a 20 million guaranteed over 5 years. Possibly a 3.5 instead of where he is at, and keeping Appleton worth the gamble. I ask Wheeler to waive and keep Appleton but that would be frowned upon also.

Sorry bout the nitpick but hawks could care less about losing subban. Much rather keep carpenter.

I'd advise against playing Wagner on the right side. He has issues receiving passes on his backhand. Has led to many defensive zone turnovers while trying to break out. Quality LW option though.

In which case just drop the pick. I just sense that lots of these kinda odd trades happen that are left field so i threw a few in. Kampf is equivalent to carpenter for said build, pick can be scrapped

I don’t think Seattle would take Thompson if they didn’t want to keep him. If what they want is defensive depth Lawrence Pilut is available instead.

I do think they might make a couple different selections, but this actually looks decent. Two that stood out:

1. If I'm SJ I'd rather keep Sasha and trade somebody else or lose Simek. He's 28, and they have some decent D prospects (Ferraro, Knyzhov, Middleton, Merkley) and they can't get rid of their 3-headed defence contract monster to make room for them.

2. I do think if you're Calgary you pay a little to keep Kylington. If you have to - I actually think there's a chance Seattle takes Giordano, but a little somethin somethin would definitely help.

Chicago isn't sending a pick so you guys don't take Subban, you can have Subban all you want, then Chicago can sign Dreiger or Rinne in the off-season
