No deal then. No one is giving you a 3rd for LDG without retention. I guarantee it. Staal got a 3rd and a 5th. Lemuiex got a 4th. Lemiuex is probably almost as good, accounting for the fact he's young and has term he's worth the same if not more. Staal is worth more (don't believe I need to expand on that).

Savard is not really better than Holl especially at his price. And losing him and Engvall for a marginal (if that) upgrade is just wasteful. It's not 1984, having a better Bogosian isn't winning anyone games.

No one said top pick or prospect, a 3rd. The drop off of NHL players drafted in the 4th vs the 3rd is almost halved. Glendening is a very good 4th line center and penalty killer. No one is confusing him with a top level player, but to say he is barely an NHLer is ridiculous.

If every other team wanted him, why is he on the 4th line in Detroit. He's a great penalty killer, and yet Detroit had the worst PK in the league. He's good at Faceoffs but TO is a top 10 team in the dot. Spezza is by far a better 4th line centre, Engvall is better, Kerfoot is better. Glendenning doesn't matter. Get anything you can for him
