You failed to mention in your summary that you also acquired Garland who Arizona's top point getting, 3rd leading goal scorer and first in plus minus.

As for the ARI idea... uhh no. They're not giving you Garland and a retained Kuemper for trash.

I do think the trade gets a little convoluted with the addition of Garland. I think the main thing here should be is the goalie trade.

I'm not even sure Kuemper is a good option for the Leafs based on how the team is constructed.

Okay so I'm gonna break thisxdown from my perspective.

Most of what is going to Arizona is for Garland, Arizona getting out of having to pay Kuemper is the victory there.

Arizona is not in a good financial situation.
This helps address that specifically.

Flipping Andersen again is what will fetch the value.

To me it seemed like Blues are right at the cap and getting a 3rd rounder and depth guy for bottom 6 FW is about right.

if the yotes want to save money why would they trade the best value contract in the NHL in garland? saving money for them is nice, but that doesnt give their hockey ops any value for one of their best players/trade chips in kuemper. Freddy got a first from the leafs id bet kuemper could probably get about that, and if a team were willing to trade only picks for him this offseason it would work out just as well in terms of saving money for arizona, but would actually give them value in return. freddy going to the yotes in this instance is only necessary for it to work for toronto, he doesnt do anything for arizona
