Spurgeon has been awful this year. He's the worst Wild in d-man adv stats, actual scoring, and everyone has played better without him than with him.

No I'm not. Spurgeon has been bad this year. Last year he was the 3rd best d-man on the Wild (Brodin and Suter easily better). All Dumba need to do was rebound a little to pass him, and he has.

Suter is declining and just isn't able to prop Spurgeon up anymore.

Use last year too. He was an adv stats darling, but those didn't match the on-ice results. He wasn't close to the being the best d-man on the Wild. He's 31 and the most expensive player on the team with 6 years left on his contract. MN needs to get rid of him as soon as they can.

Looking at the adv stats don't work well for him, he's been elite by those metrics. Just watch the games and it's easy to see the impact in all zones Suter, Brodin, and Dumba have is much larger.

I don't use stats only. And I don't watch the games only. I prefer a mix of both.

Wild fans didn't even want to watch their games last year. If it wasn't for Kaprizov they wouldn't want to watch the games this year either.
