Is Mika coming with an extension that pays him like a 50 pt player or 75 pt player? If it's in the $5-6.5M range, I'd be interested for 3-4 years. Not to mention the DeAngelo risk. I'd probably say no deal, but it's definitely interesting.

I think you guys really overlooked a lot here. First, Zib is upcoming UFA, no guarantee Nash can even hold on to him,
2nd, De Angelo is negative value right now. He cleared waivers, Rangers need to find a way to lose his cap hit...
Is Duchene overpaid? Yep, funny though there are people on this board who think not...that tells me I have something here.

Zibanejad feels like a guy NYR would like to keep around. Particularly with most of their top prospects/young players being wingers and defensemen
(other than Chytil) . I dont see them trading him off for a guy like duchene... if they do trade Z, i would imagine they would want to base it around a younger player.

I mean Duchene for Trouba could possibly work. That's probably the best you'll get from NYR... And tbh he's been better than Duchene this year.

Duchene is F'n brutal.... Zibby is better 1 for 1 and we wouldn't trade ADA, he's a buy out. Why would we try to downgrade our C? Term? we will just resign Zib at less than Duchene. This being said I could see the potential for a ADA and Strome for Duch to bail NSH from this deal and minor upgrade our 2C. Oh and the pick you had there would be on the other side. I know some don't realize it so I'll just put the numbers below

Zibby and Buyout for ADA will cost us 5.35M and 900K. total of 6.25M (Keeping the better C)

Duchene will cost 8M (Downgrading our C)
