I don't know why Gallant would want to go anywhere but Seattle. Flames fans want Gallant too, just seems unrealistic that he would pick a group that has structures in place mid season over a clean slate that he knows he can work with in Seattle as he did in Vegas.

Would be a good hire, but he doesn't speak French. Not that I think that should have anything to do with it (HIRE THE BEST F*CKING COACH AVAILABLE!), but French media wouldn't be very happy.

I think Ducharme will stay if he does well until the end of the season. Other than that, yes Gallant would be awesome. Other one would be Tourigny as HC and Roy as GM

There's a great Turk Gallant story from home...His brother was at some all-star game back in Junior, and ended up getting into it with one of the big boys (His brother is pretty small). The next year, Turk was there to play the game (His brother wasn't), and the guy that he had gotten into it with saw the name on the back of the jersey and thought it was the brother, so he grabbed him and figured he'd kick the $hit out of him. Turk ended up turning around and pummeling the guy...looked at the guy and said "Wong Gawwant"

Quite fair. As a Ducks fan, I'd take someone who's language was "Xhosa" (That's the clicking one...) if it meant we had the best coach.

Whatever it is, I don't get how a billion dollar organization can allow their decisions that influence the success of their on-ice product to be affected by outside factors (if it is fan or media pressure). I also think that the criticism over hiring a non francophone would cool down if they're a winning team. It's lowkey just discrimination to not consider hiring a coach who doesn't speak French when that has no impact on their ability to do the job. Hire the best candidate, and get a translator for media relations if you really need to.
