no its not but you need really good cheap players to sustain our cap structure and Robertson is gonna be a stud, and the difference between Andersen and Kuemper is not our best prospect + 1st rounder + another former 1st rounder

You're missing the point that it's not the difference between Andersen and Kuemper that's at issue . . . it's the difference between Campbell and Kuemper that's the issue.

our depth scoring is. Robertson is in the minors to get his feet wet after the knee injury. He’s going to be a great player for us and we aren’t trading him. he was untouchable in the offseason so proves dubas won’t move him. Keumper is a great goalie but i wouldn’t make that trade for him

I don't think that Arizona would be interested in Engvall -- they've got sufficient bottom-6 forwards qualifying for the expansion draft as is. The question is whether they'd hold out for a 2021 first.

If they deal with you guys, I would think that Liljegren is a must since they have zero experienced RDs under contract for next season and only Soderstrom likely for promotion, so they lack depth there.

Just an FYI, Campbell has been fine when he's been in goal.

I agree Robertson is too much. But you'll need a third element to get an elite goalie, even as a rental.

I think you'd do much better trading your 2021 first, Liljegren and William Villeneuve (or even Topi Niemela) for Kuemper.

If the Leafs were to involve Niemela in a trade, I'd want it to knock my socks off. I know I'm higher on him than a lot of people, and I don't expect him to become a star, but I just love the way he plays. He's so smart with and without the puck and has enough talent to put those smarts to good use. I really believe they got a steal there. Poor kid can't seem to catch a break since the WJC, though.

Way to much for Kuemper. A 1st is more than enough for 1 year of him. Unless theres an extension than they can ask for more but still not that much lul.

If the Coyotes worked on a 5.5 x 4 year extension with him than traded him a 1st and Hallander or Liligren would be the value coming back from the leafs.

Wow, wouldn't pay nearly that much for 1 year of Kuemper. There are lots of options for goalies next summer

Depending on the direction Dubas goes we either

1. Resign Freddie

2. Trade for Kuemper or Gibson

3. Make a splash and sign Binnington or decide to run a 1a/1b system and sign Raanta/Ullmark/Dreiger/etc who should not cost to much

Unless they trade a big cap player like Nylander, gotta think they would have to go with your third option.

the 2021 1st + Liljegren + Villeneuve for Kuemper is a whole different ball game than Robertson, I would absolutely look into that deal, but Robertson makes it very not worth it

The difference between Campbell in Kuemper isn't remotely close to this.
