I have to think that Svechnikov has more value than Laine with being younger and playing better. I'd rather have Svechnikov let alone add this much for a downgrade.

I think Svech carries more trade value though their skill can be debated. Laine certainly wasn't acquired to be moved.

Liane had more points at his age.

Laine was also more of a liability at his age. Svechnikov has far better metrics in a system structured around team defense. He's scoring lacrosse goals, and regularly being a game winner for Carolina, whereas Laine was thrown into a freeflowing Winnipeg offence. He's also horrific without the puck on his blade.

I've been following your posts on here and I think you'd be a great addition to the GM Game here on CapFriendly. The game is basically a season long Arm-Chair team where you get to make trades, draft, etc. and we have a formal scoring system for playoffs. We've got some openings for assistant GMs that would involve you helping GMs by offering input on all aspects of the game.
