Idk about you, but im not expecting Willy, Matthews, Marner, Rielly and Tavares ALONE to deliver a stanley cup. There needs to be a balance of toughness, want, depth and skill to have a championship team. Look at Tampa as an example. Point, Stamkos, Hedman and Kurcherov are your "skillfull" guys.. your superstars. Your added depth is Cirelli, Palat, Gourde and Sergachev, these guys are the support to your foundation (your core players). Then we see those players who are full of want and desire.. those who are not afraid to get there nose dirty and crash bodies. These players are what HELPS your core players do what they do best. Coleman, Goodrow, Bogosian, McDounagh, Maroon, Paquette and Cernack... these guys want to run you over on the ice...

Now, name me at least 5 players on the leaf's that play with the same amount of passion and determination like the players I just listed.. (Coleman, Goodrow etc..)(They dont have to be identical playing styles, but similar qualities)

Ah yes, passion and determination. Something you can totly glean from watching the games
Ok for fun, hyman, muzzin, tavares, mikheyev and kerfoot do.

The Leafs only have three in Bogosian, Hyman, and Muzzin.

Yes, because it's a bull**** stat that is literally never counted realistically and the leafs could easily do that with a trigger happy stat counter

Hits remove the opposing player from the puck and it’s an effective way to stop the other teams transition into the offensive zone. It’s one of the only real ways to stop the cycle down low. It’s the reason most teams can effectively and freely cycle the puck in the leafs end. Forechecking effectively involves hitting too.

The Canadiens add real playoff performers (stanley cup champions) in Edmundson, Toffoli, and Allen while having a lesser version of Tom Wilson (Josh Anderson). Who did the Leafs add? A Buffalo reject in Jimmy f***ing Vesey? He will sure show them how to go for a cup run. I hope he never sees a game in a Leafs jersey. I don't like the kid.

Except that hits are more than half the time after the puck is gone, nonsense that has no impact on puck possessions

Tavares is not this, a 90 point capable player only putting 60 is bad. He came home and is living his fantasy. Hyman, yes absolutley. Muzzin, yes.. when we wants to be. He got two cups already so he should be leading by example and show what it takes to win games in the playoffs. Mikheyev, yes, but for now,. Hes gonna be playing for a bigger contract with the deal he got. Once he gets his pay, you can forget about him producing. Kerfoot is a no. He's quiet and is just good with his stick and can kill penalties. Dont expect him to be around long.

60 points jn 63 games while playing with a broken finger and coming back to early from the broken finger but sure.
Kerfoot is a yes and you literally cannot prove otherwise because i said he did cause i saw him play with passion and determination and you not seeing that doesnt disprove me seeing it.
Wonderful how that works eh?

I love how Bogosian suddenly plays the 'right way' despite being called crap and a bust and useless for most of his career because he was suddenly on a winning team

If you click on Jaredoflondon name, you can use the ignore button option. Easy solution, rather than try to use logic or common sense on him.

He had literally never played a playoff game until he was suddenly on the best team in the league as their 8th most used defender. But sure he did it all eh?

A cup is a cup. He accumulated more playoff experience than any player on the Leafs. Playoff experience cannot be ignored, especially for a team who never made past the first round since 2004. This is why every player who leaves Toronto always has success on another team. We are not built as a playoff contender, close, but still very far respectively.

Hi everyone I will start my comment with the fact I am a Jets fan and really don’t care one way or another (neutral) on Nylander. As I see it the real problem the Leafs have is paying those 3 excessively large salaries for Tavares/Mathews/Marner ( IMO paying too much for Tavares + Marner). This hampers the Leafs in so many ways. In order for them to stay near the top the pressure is on to keep having ELC players make a solid contribution due to salary cap issues. So far their drafting has been ok. To me the problem is NOT Nylander, the problem is your team structure. Wouldn’t you like Kadri to still be on the team ( minus a few bone headed decisions in the playoffs)? You might regret trading Nylander.........

Yah I shouldn't have said "every Leafs player." Exactly though, Jake Muzzin. He plays a playoff style game and we need more players with a similar role. No one is getting past a Muzzin - Bogosian pairing, especially in the playoffs.
