Keefes horrible call I guess
Can’ t wait to watch Thornton try to keep up with Marner and Matthews! It’s going to remind me of my last few years of beer league hockey trying to keep up with some young 20 somethings who still back checked like they had a chance to go to THE SHOW. He will be gassed if he plays close to 20 min a night. All you are gonna see is a big red face........... Get the oxygen for the bench......

Fixing Laine Relationship
There is NO way the Jets are going to pay Laine 9 million + Hamilton 9.25 million with the teams present salary crunch. I not see them ALL IN unless they legitimately feel they can win a Stanley Cup. I think we might be a few years away from taking on 2 big long term contracts. Laine would probably be signed if the Jets offered had offered him 6 years at 9 million imo

you say you want a trade
If I did my math correctly I do. To believe the Jets would have enough cap space to make this happen. Unless they find a way to get rid of Perreault’s contract. But I do like Dekeyser.

What I see when I watch the Islanders is Barzal flying around and his linemates can barely keep up and don't play the style he does, could see Roslo meshing with It’s not like I don’t like Roslavic. I think he needs a change of scenery and to your point he probably was not utilized to his potential .most p,ayers that get traded can make that claim. If there is no fit in WPG then move him for an asset, think Chicago with Toews and Dach injured would reap the biggest return for the Jets.
Trotz had success in Washington cause he got them to buy in but in the end the Capitals were a good team from top to bottom, the Islanders aren't quite as good, he'll only go so far playing Komarov over Bellows/Wahlstrom and Boychuk over Dobson for example.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>C21</b></div><div>Even if you don't like the term of Spurgeon's contract, this is still Minnesota trading an elite dman for a 3rd liner who recently requested a trade and Pionk who is simply not close to as good as 46, and it's not a debate. Still a good defenseman, just not on Spurgeon's level
So if Winnipeg plans on competing now, they do this everyday of the week. Not only is the value in their favour, but it also helps them accomplish what they want to do now, and that's win. This is a substantial upgrade for them it may be. But not a good fit as we already have too many smaller D-Man is the point I am trying to make. Keep him he is not worth it long term imo. If everyone agreed on the same thing life would be boring........
But this isn't even worth a debate, as Spurgeon wouldn't even consider waiving his NMC</div></div>

You can take all the metrics and advanced stats etc..... but he is NOT a hard player to play against, most NYI’s are! How does Trotz win so much with that team?

Jets sign him up. Added grit and solid bottom 6 player. Don’t see any downside. I don’t think Calgary would trade Bennett in their division as it may co e back to haunt them.

When Trotz sees how well Roslovic plays defensively and in his own zone we will never see zone ice! Lol

Chevy if you can get Manson on the team I don’t care what side he has to play on. And make it happen and do it quickly. He is exactly what we need more of on our back end (grit). If anyone thinks otherwise go watch the play in best of 5 against Calgary.

Spurgeon from the comments above should be a multiple Norris trophy finalist. C’mon everyone he is 31 years old with an huge contract of over 50 million dollars. Another small defenseman ( listed at 5’9 And 170 lbs) is just what the Jets DON’T need. For you Minny fans who say this is a bad trade for your team ,I dare say it would be a far worse trade for the Jets. Short term Spurgeon would definitely be an asset, long term we would regret that contract as most likely Minny will . When you think of it most long term deals for players in their early 30’s usually backfire in the last half of their contracts ( see Subban / Parise/ Neal / Lucic. ........... wouldn’t be surprised the Jets regret the last 2 years of Wheeler at 8.2 million. But I understand why they signed him at the time.

No way the Jets are interested in 3 years at 3.2 million in Kassian ( probably a 4 th liner soon imo). Not a great contract in a flat cap era. Good luck trying to shed his salary unless you are willing to find a team rebuilding. Going to need to throw draft picks in as compensation for taking on Kassian.

Whats the cost jets fans
Well as much as I would hate to see Roslavic go I do understand why he wants to be traded as I don’t see ever being in out top 6. If the Jets were to trade him to the Sharks I believe a good quality player needs to be the return ( not a draft pick) as losing him really hurts our depth at wing/center. What do the Jets need In return is either a center or a defenseman. Looking at your lineup probably Ferraro might be close to fair, I would prefer Simek but with that contract being so friendly I can’t see that deal getting done. Nobody at forward really intrigued me.

Perfetti is going to be just fine as #2 C. You can see the talent at the WJC, how he reads the ice and handles the puck without panicking. He just needs to get bigger and stronger. Do you remember a young kids drafted called Schiefele? Do you remember the Bambi legs? If you touched him how he fell over! And how did Schiefele turn out? Let’s just give him a few years. If he played his 1st year as a 20 or 21 year old I am fine with it. His hockey IQ is apparently off the charts.

The Canadian division just added one of the most hated and dirty players in the league. Having to play against Corey Perry 9 times is going to increase the intensity in those games for sure. Not sure how much he has left in the tank.

NYI NEXT SEASON
Not sure why the Islanders would do this. Trading for Klefbom is quite risky with him having shoulder surgery and out for the season. Yes he is supposed to be ready. Yeah you would have some good cap savings but make the deal for another defenseman who is healthier. And will the Oilers have cap space to take this on?

Tampa keeps getting away with it
There is no way Boston is going to help out one of its biggest rivals get out of this cap crunch. Making this deal to dump Johnson’s salary is going to cost a whole lot more than what you suggest. Convince me why another contender would help TB out especially after they just won a Stanley Cup? Only teams that should trade with Tampa Bay are teams looking to rebuild with lots of cap space wanting to compile draft picks.

If boychuk isn't on LTIR now after saying he can never play ever again I wonder why. I'm also not sure if Barzy wants a 7/8 year deal with the flat cap. Sign a bridge contract and max out when he can put the price through the roof, that's what I'd do but I'm trash at hockey lmao</div></div>

Islanders would have signed Barnaal a long time ago if they could have him agree to 7 million dollar contract imo. Yeah I realize it’s a bridge deal you are suggesting but I feel Barzal and his agent are looking for 7 or 8 year deal.
