Nah. Not even factoring in contract COL isn’t doing that, imo right now McDavid is the best player I’ll grant but the difference isn’t Byram. Factoring in contract MacKinnon is by far the most valuable player in the NHL and it isn’t close. At least the next 3 seasons.

I am aware Colorado isn't doing that but Edmonton would never consider anything less. McDavid has twice the term as MacKinnon which has value in itself too. Whether Colorado would do the trade or not does not change the value of the trade concept

McDavid and MacKinnon are cornerstones for each club neither are going anywhere

I would like a more established player in the return. Even makar who had an insane year last year, it was still only one year. That’s the problem for me.

This is pointless. Avs have no need for McDavid and would have to dismantle their entire team to make a trade package and fit him under the cap. They would end up as a worse team because of it

I know, but for these hypothetical discussions with apologies to an aging Sidney Crosby you have the 2 best players in the world, and the difference between the 2 is one of the 5 best prospects in the entire league. The gap between the 2 is such that TSN even ranked MacKinnon #1 recently.
