Quoting: Claesson4Norris
Max Domi isn't a 1C and he's not worth anything close to that kind of package. He had less trade value than a power forward who has never hit 50 points and just missed nearly a year with injuries.
Agree. It is a huge overpay for Domi...and the Jackets would probably never turn around and trade him since they just traded for him recently.
Domi was relegated to the LW in Montreal, and Jarmo picked him up for a very cost-effective price, giving up a power forward in Anderson who had 1 very good year and some injury problems.
I would expect Domi to thrive in the CBJ system, which is a team type system with no superstars, and he is at his natural Center position.
Not to mention his presence (and he is a huge upgrade over Wennberg) should take a lot of pressure off of Dubois to be "the guy".
I could see Domi easily having a 20 G / 40 A / 60 P line in a full 82 game season.
