Leaf players are overrated in general. I knew making this list that I'd get the most flack from Leafs fans.

A few things I wasn't going to do:
- Discount Karlsson or Doughty immediately. I want to see how they use next year. Both were not great relative to their averages - but honestly who on SJ or LA didn't have a down year. I'm not going to be rash like most fans are with throwing a guy out the window.
- Let the mob mentality impact my decisions. If I overlooked something I would fix it, but just because fans think an average player is good doesn't mean they are good


I dont see Rielly even having an argument for top 10. He's locked in the range I already described.

Totally. Heiskanen is the best of the 3 now and will be in the future now. He is too talented to hold back from putting him in the top 10.

I agree with what you said about Rielly.
Doughty? He might be a bit better than you're trying to say he is but not much, yes.
Marner? Depends on what you mean by 17-27. If it's players in the league, than sure. But he's easily a top 10 right wing.

Oh of course. I am happy that you presented an original opinion and not an opinion dictated by others. Your list, overall, was very good. Very little I had to critique overall. Well done.
Leafs player overrated? This is would disagree. Sure, so many people talk about them. But I wouldn't say overrated. Tons of people hate the leafs and think they suck. Not overrated by those people. Which, when you think about it, is probably about 80% of people.

Internally overrated. I'm sure there are some leaf fans in this world that would demand Justin Holl be on this list somewhere.

I don't agree. He's #1 in the NHL in 5v5 TOI over the past 2 years and was 9th in points among defensemen, tied with Ekblad. Pretty decent for a 23-25 year old, not many guys that age can play 1st pairing minutes effectively. Top-5 in the league in zone exits with control, zone entries with control and zone entries that lead to a scoring chance.

Not trying to be mean but their are so many things wrong with this list that I can’t even write it down without exceeding the character limit so I’m just gonna say this list is awful, but what the worst part about this list is Jones and doughty, both are arguably top 40 NO HIGHER

Way too many things wrong with this list. Would take a few hours to point out all the mistakes.

top 50 lists are subjective and different from team to team. I didn't expect everyone to be overjoyed.
