I agree somewhat with both of you. However, i do believe that since this draft is very deep, and at 8th overall, you may have someone like perfetti, rossi, etc. and acquiring a 1a/b prospect in robertson with a potential starting goalie in goegiev while also dumping a bad contract does sweeten the deal. 3 firsts in this draft are very solid and i, though with bias, do believe the trade is fairly close. maybe not spot on but close
When you’re discussing trading away a player that has drawn hefty comparisons to Evgeni Malkin (it’s no secret that I’m leaning towards wanting Byfield at 2nd overall), the only pieces of interest consist of the 8th overall and Matthew Robertson.
I like Robertson, but the Kings already have a handful of LD prospects as is, nor is he someone I’d be willing to cough up the 2nd pick for in a trade. If there’s a smaller deal the Kings would make with New York (say, Iafallo or Roy to the Rangers), then yes I’d definitely be willing to discuss him being the return.
If the Kings were to acquire Georgiev, they’re left with 3 NHL goaltenders, one of which would have to be put on waivers. Kings are going to surely run the Cal Peterson experiment (with Quick as mentor) before they look to bring in a new goalie.
