Quoting: Boomer125
So to be completely clear Hutton is owed 2.75 and in this trade you are rid of a goalie who was terrible aquired a grand total of 3.6 million in actual dollars in a starter and F and fell to 7 spots in this draft - all of this has pegula written all over it
OK great, makes a lot of sense for the bottom line.
Anderson for one year is not worth moving down and Buffalo needs RW not LW.
I should not have brought cash into the picture and stayed with the players.
BTW Hutton a very bad stretch of 12 games in which he could not follow the puck.
Earlier in the year, he set a Sabre record for most saves to record a shut out.
Take out the eye issues, he was OK.
If Buffalo was a GK away from competing with the Leafs you are correct pull the trigger on this trade.
But they need at least 2 middle six right handed shooters, another center and a LHD, which one of those holes is filled by this trade?
None, this trade does not help Buffalo.
The 8th OA may do it next season, by then, Ullmark will be better and Luukkonen, Ukko-Pekka will be a year closer.
Trading away first round picks for the likes of Lehner and Kane put Buffalo in the hole that they are in.
IMO they need to stop doing that.
