Around the TDL, Luke Fox said that Kapanen would be anough for Manson one for one. So I think this is a gross overpay. I’d give like maybe a second and Holl, or maybe a second and Duszak. IMO Manson isn’t worth a RHD prospect that could be better than him one day.

This is all us Ducks fans have been saying for almost 2 years now. None of us think Manson is worth any more than that, if anyone is aware of his decline it's us. However he is still a top 4 shutdown Dman and would fit very well on the leafs playing with Rielly. A B prospect and a second has always been the ask and yet Leaf fans think that is overvaluing him, its funny those same ones say SDA is elite and act like Lily is the next Makar/Hughes.

The Ducks dont need AJ, Dermott, Kerfoot, etc. Yeah value wise a deal with one of them makes sense, needs wise the Ducks dont trade Manson for any of them, we have 6 NHL LWs in Rakell, Heinen, Milano, Jones, Comtois, Deslauriers and we have 4 Dermotts in Djoos, Larsson, Guhle, Mahura

Leafs shouldn't be concerned with "could be better than him one day" Liljegren has had opportunities to become that blueliner in TO and has not siezed it - I'm all over Mason for Liljegren and a 2nd rnd pick

I'm an advocate for Manson to the Leafs (though as @Jah1722 said, many other Leaf fans aren't big on him) but this is a sizable overpay.

Toronto beat reporter reports on value of player that Toronto beat reporters report that Toronto Maple Leafs want. I can't see how he could possibly come up with an accurate valuation. This is where some of the ridiculous Leafs trades on here come from.

The Ducks "Love Josh Manson more than you love your wife". Pretty confident that they aren't going to sell low on him, and likely have no intention of moving him at all, unless it were a slight overpay that filled their needs, ie. Liljegren and a 2nd.

Most leaf fans and hockey fans will agree that Manson is what the Leafs are looking for, Leaf fans also don't have an issue with a slight overpay as well, they tend to get thier backs up when they propose a trade and are met with " we don't want your garbage now add a 1st" because truthfully their isn't a whole lot of garbage on the leafs , just my opinion, I also agree that Liljegren plus a 2nd is worth it for Manson on the other hand if Liljegren is this top 4 RHD that TO is missing then play him in that role and move on

I agree with keeping Liljegren. Best way to develop a strong core is to actually develop the players you've got, and then add small pieces around them, similar to what Nashville had done in the past, and what Anaheim did when they were successful.
