He's not really a legitimate option for the Oilers, of course that depends on his contract demands. If he wants Bobrovsky money, not a chance. Although I don't think he will get that from anyone, given as Bobrovksy hasn't turned out and is looking like a disaster from this point going forward.
Lots fo Free Agents are going to get lighter contracts than initially expected given the pandemic and cap staying flat. If he wants a short term deal to try and cash in one last time once the cap bumps up, and only than would the Oilers be interested.
In my opinion, I could see Canucks or Sabres interested. Canucks only if Markstrom walks (which I don't think he will). Sabres might want him to prove to Eichel that they care.
IF he gets a long term deal, I don;t think it'll be a good deal for the team. He was already losing his job to Samsanov and is on the wrong side of 30.
