Well when you loose every trade in an off-season probably shouldn’t feel optimistic team will take a step forward.

imo the problem was the defense. Most of the goals scored by Chicago were deflections, which weren't really the fault of the goaltenders. And Koskinen had a pretty good regular season.

Koskinen was average in the regular season, middle of the pack among starters, and bad int he playoffs. You could improve that.

You platoon smith and Koskinen 50/50 in the regular season...Koskinen is not good enough to take on a larger work load and Dell is not good enough to platoon starts with.
IMO you just did a lateral to maybe even a small upgrade in your goalies

I honestly think this team is worse. 5 of the bottom 6 forwards belong in the AHL (except Kerfoot who is quite good) . This team is still top heavy.
Trading away Nurse and taking Mete as #2 LD is a mistake too. I hope Mete can improve cause lately he is playing really poorly (in a conference built on speed) where he cannot even clear the front of his own net. I think he would struggle in the bigger conference.
And yea...goaltending still has no fix.

either one of those would be a much better platoon option. Greiss makes a lot of sense, German buddies sticking together. But they wont be cheap, they will be in that 2.5m-3m category of 1B goalies

I think this team is better but I don't think the Oilers can afford to lose both Larsson and Nurse and replace them with soft dmen, maybe one but not both.

Doubt that Domi is gonna be that cheap to sign, Fantenberg is a good depth dman signing, wouldn't bother with Sheary and I've never thought much of Dell, I think you'd be better to sign another goalie.

Why is Ottawa giving up an asset for your cap dump? If you think he holds value trade him elsewhere, we don't need him as a player, only if we get an asset for taking him

Even swap for Oils 4th liner
But Domi/Mete for Nurse/JP works fine
