I've seen it and want no part of it. If Galchenyuk is willing to take a 1 year prove it deal then I am ok with starting him at third line wing and seeing where it goes from there, but I by no means want to go into the season counting on him being my 2C

Montreal played him on the 1st line, I still believe he can have some responsibility, and idc about reputation, a lot of the time a change of scenery and buyng in from both sides does the job

You make a point: Years ago Larry Murphy was chased out of Toronto after being booed mercilessly by the fans... then helped the Wings win Cups. However, he'd previously been an all-star & was good enough to be on the ice when Gretzky & Lemieux teamed up to beat the Soviets - so he had the pedigree Galchenyuk doesn't.

It's not an awful price for Johansen with retention, but NSH has no spot for him.

Even a more recent example with evander kane, tons of people labeled him as entitled in winnipeg, but as soon as he became a shark he shows up to work everyday and performs, and you never hear anything like that in the sharks locker room

Hes taken on a lot more defensive responsibility this year and despite lacking the numbers offensively this season hes improved every year

I'd love to see Buffalo take a chance on Galchenyuk and have it work out for both sides but definitely not at that price or term, really thought it was obvious the Pens would trade Galchenyuk to free up cap space to make another move, don't know why Botterill didn't take a shot at him instead of acquiring Frolik, maybe Rutherford didn't want to trade him within the conference though but that really doesn't seem like it was much of a factor for the Pens, appeared they really just wanted him gone.
