I'm still surprised when people have Domi playing the wing.
His best year to date has been as a C and even this season wasn't too bad considering the team overall did horrible.
Are centers going into next season should be danault, Domi Suzuki and Evans.
Kk needs a full year in the AHL

For the most part this season Domi played the wing, however you are right he is better at center and for me that is the biggest reason why he would be our best trade candidate to fill the LHD situation.

I agree with the Danault, Domi, Suzuki, and Evans rotation. I'd use Vejdemo as an extra center who can be called up for injuries. It gives loads of time for Poehling and Kotkaniemi to develop.

No one is disagreeing with you about whether Domi is a better centre than winger. But I don’t understand the idea that KK isn’t an NHLer. He was an NHLer 2 years ago, and this season he just had a bunch of injury problems, and a some issues adjusting to his new muscle. Players have rough patches, and it’s especially common for 2nd year players. Anyways, if KK plays in the NHL, which I’m sure he will, Domi would be the first one to be moved to the wing.

Oiler fan here: Why did Drouin play such a small amount of games? As of now I'd prefer the Oilers not do this trade as Nurse is a very solid 3D or maybe 2D if absolutely needed.

Even if you give Drouin the same amount of games as Nurse, he only would have gotten 39 points this year. Now, I don't watch MTL so I don't know if this was a down year or something I'm missing but I wouldn't want to see this trade.

As an Oiler fan I have had a few nurse trades and talks fairly recently and I think he’s heavily undervalued as a stud d. No way I would give nurse a big strong smooth skating physical d that is still very young getting better up for Drouin alone. Add KK and I think that’s a much closer beginning point.

No thanks from the oilers. Would rather get Connor, or Ehlers for Nurse. Drouin is good, but I think we could get more for Nurse.

You guys are kidding right ? Nurse only have a 2 years deal, will be UFA and will command a 7M+ deal long term. Drouin got 3 years, so 1 for 1 is fair. Ehlers Connor have wayyyy more value than Nurse. Timmah : hAd KoTkAnIeMi mUcH cLoSeR and you add Bouchard ok Drouin KK vs Nurse Bouchard are Nurse vs Drouin. If you say no, I couldn't care less we'll keep Drouin no problem, just an idea since you guys have Klefbom Russell C.Jones.

Was having is best year at the beginning of the season with 15 points in 17 games but Ovechkin destroy him and he missed almost the entire season. He did come back injured at the end of the year, dont know why he played injured but now is 100% healthy if the playoffs restart in August

Agreed. And I think you're much more likely to get a positive response from Edmonton dangling Domi than Drouin.

Drouin has had one season with 20+ goals with Tampa.
I’m just wondering why Drouin is worth anything close to nurse today? Going by production Drouin isn’t even keeping up with James Neal....

Drouin played a small number of games because he got injured. I think that’s pretty obvious, it’s not like he was a healthy scratch.

I agree Drouin really also came into his own at the start of the year and had amazing chemistry with Kotkaniemi as his center. Then he was injured and was out a really long time and when he did come back he was still not playing at 100% because we were trying to push for a playoff spot. At the beginning of the season Drouin was a PPG player. This would not even be a thing if he was not injured and was able to play at 100% for the entire season.

In the past 3 years Nurse is 7th among defensemen for 5v5 points, tied with Victor Hedman. His 4476:33 TOI at 5v5 is 2nd in the league, only Doughty is leaned on more heavily than Nurse. Nurse outscores Doughty by 30%, he shoots the puck 80% more and individually created more than twice as many high danger chances.

It’s a good idea. But Nurse does have enough value to get one of Ehlers, Connor, DeBrincat etc.. I said I want a Ehlers or Connor type player for him. It doesn’t have to be one of those guys. The reason why I picked them was because one Winnipeg needs defence and I really like them, and I think it is fair to trade Nurse for one.

Do you think Nurse for Connor, or Nurse for Ehlers 1 for 1 is fair?? I think so, because that’s who I would want for Nurse if we were going to trade him.

Value-wise, yes, but does Winnipeg do that? They have Morrissey at 1LD and Heinola and Samberg coming.

Montreal is a pretty good target for a Nurse trade, but this return isn't close.

Ya that’s true.. thanks for the feedback, the reason why I asked was because Winnipeg fans were saying that they were getting robbed. I agree Montreal would be a good target, maybe Domi could do it. I don’t know if we would even trade Nurse anyway.

I was going to make a team suggesting a 1-1 Drouin for Neal. Just to hear how bad it is even tho comparable term comparable money except Neal can actually give you 20 goals a year. Correct me if I’m wrong but Drouin only managed to do once.

Drouin with McDavid = 80-90 points
I believe Drouin could be a ~65 points player in MTL
