NYR trade value is there, they probably just dont want either of them. SJS trade is weird, Vlasic has lost some value with his season and Maatta is pretty okay, but I think they would want quality over quantity there, and I think we could get more for Saad from someone else

I mean, Maatta isnt a pure cap dump. He's a pretty okay bottom 4 defenseman. But yeah, the product doesnt equal the sum of its parts. Or atleast i think the phrase is something like that. What I mean is SJ probably would either want picks or a current solid player

I’m curious as to why Vlasic has less value now that he is done with his freshman season in college? I don’t think many NCAA freshman (D-man especially) have great seasons coming out of the draft.

I don't think its a direct result of his season, it was more of how people behind him have faired a little bit better than him. His season wasnt great but it wasnt horrible for what he is advertised as

I like Alex Vlasic but he was always a late second rounder to me, and didnt do anything to really change that opinion. I dont think hes bad, just meh, not really impressive at this stage compared to his peers.

Fully agree with all these arguement’s on here! The Labanc trade is garbage.

We have 1 overpaid LD and two high quality LD on great deals and about 7 young LD some with a bit of potential... what we don’t have is any RW in the NHL and almost no RW in the minors. This is taking from our weakness to supply bodies to our strength. This isn’t a value issue it’s a usefulness issue.

Colorado can get someone better with more term for a Jost + Zadorov package. Especially since Saad has a $6m caphit. This offseason will be a buyers market.

For example, Killorn will likely cost like a 2nd + 3rd, or alternatively Jost + mid-round pick/B prospect
