1. That NJ trade aint worth. Kap can get a 1st but only at the winter deadline and dermott can get a 2nd but i dont see the leafs parting from him unless a good rhd comes back.

STL decline and laugh. Parayko is not going anywhere. Rangers don't need a AHL winger either. New Jersey is not going to trade away 1st round pick especially since they are rebuilding. Sabres might accept but not for a 2nd round pick.

I am asking why only at the deadline. For the reasons you listed (and more) I think he should be able to fetch a 1st whenever.

because teams are more willing to pay more, Kap is good but teams at the draft may be hesitant to pay that much for him, especially with how deep it is. If he does well in the playoffs sure teams will throw 1sts, but Dubas would probs rather keep him until the winter deadline as lets say defense isnt working out he can move him towards the end for a 1st or in a package for a defenseman to come help fill the ranks like muzzin did.

Its tricky to determine a players value at given points in time. Dubas safest bet is to keep kap till next winters deadline so we can see how the team does.

Why include Bracco in any NHL trade. A lot of moving parts just to get Parayko for two years. Why do so many think Thornton is going to sign with the Leafs especially for 700,00. Not saying I want him my team, but geez, what is Thornton's motivation to leave home.
